We took the
SBB CFF FFS train [link] at 9:10am towards Salzburg. It took us 6 hours and 48 minutes to reach and it cost about CHF133 (RM481.12) each. The fare could be cheaper if you booked earlier. We had to change train in Zurich for the train to Salzburg.
The journey is counted as the most scenic journey I have ever had. It is really indescribable! I simply just cannot describe the view. The camera too could not capture the beauty of the place, besides it not being able to capture because the train was moving and the camera was a lousy one! I hope that I will have the chance to experience this journey again. This is because I only saw half of them only as I was sleeping in the train! What a waste. So, remember to stay awake in this train ride!
Salzburg was a little warm when we reached at 4pm. After putting our luggage in our hotel, which was Goldenes Theater Hotel, we went in search for food! A little about Salzburg, the name Salzburg is literally Salt's Fortress. The
Salzburg's Old Town is renowned for its baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city centres north of the Alps. It is also the birthplace of the famous composer, Mozart, and also the setting for parts of The Sound of Music movie! A city of music! Before and after dinner, we spent on walking and exploring the town. We managed to visit two of the tourist spots which are
Residenz Prunkräume and
Residentzplate Square.
