Europe Trip (Venice, Italy #2)

9th April 2011
Early in the morning, we went out for some sightseeing. Everywhere was filled with tourists.

Pizzas for breakfast!
Stalls along the way to Rialto Bridge
All types of noodle for pasta!
Grand Canal taken from Rialto Bridge
Look at the crowd.
We took the water bus to Lido, which is a little island near the Venice main city. This is the island that I mentioned in my previous post that has land vehicles. Did some sight seeing. We went to explore Lido beach too which is on the other side of the island. It was a straight road from the station to the beach. The beach is facing towards Adriatic Sea. My first sea other than Straits of Malacca and South China Sea! The beach was not that clean though. I could see rubbish everywhere. The waves were also not that strong. It was quite hot when we were there.

On the way to Lido.
Lido Beach.
Check out local supermarket.
Wine packed in such way! They are cheaper than water.
Gondolas, traditional Venetian rowing boats.
Two friendly kids whom we met on the water bus.
At night, we just strolled around to see the night version of Venice. Venice leaves me with an impression that it is a quiet city, despite the people around tourist attraction sites. The reason is that other areas that have no significant landmarks are actually quite quiet. Especially at night, those places were dark. Nevertheless, it is one beautiful city and I hope I can come back again in the future.
